ARTIST BIO

Rachel Farabaugh is an artist and Creative Director from Los Angeles. She has a diverse background in a variety of mediums such as fine art, illustration, photography, writing, advertising and graphic design. She has worked with an impressive number of clients over the past fifteen years in a wide range of industries. However, fashion has been her primary focus for the past decade. Rachel has helped launch many startup brands as well as guiding well established fashion clients along the way.

Rachel got her start out of college as an advertising graphic designer in Detroit for a magazine called Six Degrees Magazine (currently 944). She was in charge of creating advertisements for clients as well as designing spreads for the magazine. Six months later, she received an offer from Saturn and became an Art Director with the car company. She continued to work with the magazine as well and built up an extensive client list in Detroit over the course of two years.

In 2008, she quit both jobs and moved to Los Angeles. It didn't take long to attract new clients and she established designRACY in Venice Beach shortly after. It was in this business that she began to work with fashion clients in Los Angeles and became a Shopify expert, specializing in eCommerce and building fashion websites. She ran this business successfully with a partner for five years before leaving to start her own independent venture..

In 2014 she launched Bohemi+Chic, which she still manages today. She has a highly experienced team of designers and developers who help her keep up with the demand for new work. She continues to specialize in eCommerce sites for fashion brands, as well as designing packaging and branding for other clients in health and wellness.

At the same time she launched Bohemi+Chic, Rachel was approached by Hallmark and offered a position as Creative Director for their eCard division in Los Angeles. She agreed to the job under the condition that she be allowed to run her new business and remain independent. It was a deal that worked out well, and Rachel worked with Hallmark as a Creative Director for three years.

In 2016, Rachel left Los Angeles to embark on a one year road trip across the US in a vintage RV that she renovated for traveling. She continued to work with Hallmark and her own clients while she was away and didn't skip a beat. She focused most of her energy that year on filming the National Parks and creating nature based eCards for Hallmark. It was a dream come true and a much needed reset from living in the city for nearly ten years.

As her one year of traveling was coming to an end, she decided not to return to Los Angeles. Instead, she moved to Sedona, Arizona and opted for a slower pace of life. Being surrounded by nature is important to Rachel and something she could no longer compromise after being in the National Parks. She now runs her business from Sedona and travels back to LA frequently to see clients. It's the perfect blend of both worlds and she is grateful to retain such a strong connection to Los Angeles. The relationship is long distance now, but there is still the same amount of love in her heart for the city.

“I BELIEVE THAT DREAMS ARE A BRIDGE INTO OUR HIDDEN UNCONSCIOUS EXISTENCE WHERE IMAGINATION AND REALITY ARE THE SAME. HAVING THE ABILITY TO CAPTURE AND SHARE THESE VISIONS THROUGH CREATIVITY TURNS OUR DREAMS INTO SOMETHING TANGIBLE AND ALIVE IN THIS WORLD.”

In 2018, Rachel launched two new companies, because serial entrepreneurship is a real thing. And building businesses is fun. Both are inspired by her passion for writing and illustrating, and they are far different than the fashion industry she knows so well. The first is called Inspirational Tarot, which is dedicated to helping others learn Tarot. She illustrated her own Tarot decks and wrote guidebooks which can be found HERE. The second business is called Dream Magic Publications, which helps others to publish their own books. It's a journey that Rachel spent years navigating as she published two books of her own. And now it's something she is able to share.

Rachel is passionate about helping others through her creativity. Her greatest joy comes from watching dreams come to life through design and creative expression.
